International Conference on Automotive Materials and Manufacturing 2010
October 6- 8 2010 : ARAI-FID, Chakan, Pune


Hon’ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh inaugurated the International Conference and Expo at Pune on 6th October, 2010.  The dignitaries included Shri Ambuj Sharma, Joint Secretary, DHI; Dr. John Chacko, Managing Director Technical, Volkswagen India Ltd.; Dr. Mahalakshmi Rangarajan K., Chairperson and Managing Trustee, VelTech University and  Shri Shrikant Marathe, Director, ARAI amongst others.  
Hon’ble Minister expressed happiness as such a conference being organized for the first time in India with a large participation of delegates from Industry and Academia both from India and abroad. Hon’ble Minister (HI&PE) appealed to the industry to make effective utilization of the excellent facilities set up by Government of India at ARAI-FID and to collaborate with the academia for meaningful R&D initiatives.
On this occasion, research papers published for the conference as well as the Expo Directory containing profiles of 60 participating companies were released by the Hon’ble Minister. During the conference, 16 technical sessions covering 15 different topics on Materials Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies were conducted. The exhibition where 60 companies participated and displayed their latest technologies, also received good response from participants and visitors.
